14 يناير, 2011 The Pearl

أضف تعليقك

Assalamu Alaikum, In highschool I read a novel called "The Pearl" by the fameous American novelist — John Steinbeck. In it, a poor South American fisherman found a pearl. It was the largest, most beautiful pearl in the world. Once in his pocession, he faced a series of difficulties due to envy, jealously, malice, etc of the society around him. Nothing in his life was normal after that time. All blessings in his life dissappeared. His problems got so bad that in the end he went out to sea and threw the pearl back in it. From 10 years of experience in US, I have found Western countries to be like this pearl for a Muslim migrant. It is attractive, enticing, promising a better material future, etc. But once you reach out to it and hold it in your palm, a whole series of problems and difficulties start. Some are short-term, some are long-term. The end result is that you lose the meaning of life and those irreplaceable things in life that one cherishes most – e.g. faith, peace of mind, self-identity, community identity, deep bonds with immediate and extended family, certainty in thought, order in life, free time, spiritual pursuits, spousal fidelity, positive influences on your children, caring for and helping the less fortunate. In return, you get a nice car and house which really does not belong to you and join a continous lonesome routine for self perpetuation. Social theories in the West are based on Darwinian concepts of animal survival, social struggle theories of Weber, Marx and sexual motivation theories like that of Frued. These are the tenets of belief of the secular religion of the West. Once a Muslim becomes part of that society, he is reduced from the divinely ordained position of Khalifatullah Fil Ardh and the Insaan Al Kamil – exemplified by the Prophet (SWAS) to little more than an animal with animal desires and animal wants. At work, he is a human "resource" to be used and discarded like toilet paper. I am not against going to the West. What I am not advocating is to live there without specific goals and a well thought out exit strategy. Wisdom is the lost article of the Muslim to be picked where ever he finds it. Time spent in the West should be used productively to take the good things offered by that experience. Concentrate on intangible things that will never leave you – good education, good work experience, Islamic education opportunities in English, getting to know Muslims from others parts of the Ummah, how to give Dawah to non-Muslims in English, understanding the present world and the times in which we live, replacing the nationalistic jingoistic concepts that you were brought up with with the universal message of Islam, cultivating good manners and habits like keeping promises and speaking the truth, becoming physically fit, learning time management, multi-tasking and organization skills, etc. Many Muslims migrate to the West in mature years when they have become stable and grown spirtually and professionally. They deride such warnings. It is foolhardy to assume that they will be fine. Being immersed in that environment will affect them if not in the short term, then in the long term. If not them, It will surely affect their kids. The greatest mistake people make is not to have an exit plan. Having one becomes difficult if the person did not develop himself to survive anywhere and has become addicted to the life there. Having loans and mortgages also means that you deny yourself the financial liberty to return. Also, waiting till your children have grown up means that when you do decide to return, your children will refuse as they are used to the life there. Go to the West and take advantages of the opportunities that it offers, but when you sense that your goals have been achieved and you do not have any significant self-development goals left to achieve, by all means leave. I moved to the US when I was 18. I did my BS and MS in Engineering from good universities. I learnt a plethora of things there that I can’t even begin to count. I got the opportunity to work in a good position in the most respected company in my field. I got the chance to learn from Islamic scholars and make sense of the world. But when I realized that there would not be many more milestones that offered personal growth, I had the courage to throw back the pearl back in the deep ocean. I was 28 then, at the ripe age when I was supposed to start reaping the benefits of my hard work. I have never regretted my decision. Insha Allah, when you return to your Muslim country of choice, you will have learnt all about the difficulties you experienced in the belly of the Western beast. So when the same social phenomena eventually creeps into your new country of residence through Globalization, you will know how to take care of yourself and your family. You will not fall for the its false charms. You will become a discerning, thinking individual able to do the right thing even when it means opposing the majority trends in your country. At a macro level, what can be said about the life in the West applies to the life in this World. As Muslims we must take advantages of the opportunities it offers us by cultivating what will eventually benefit us later — i.e. in the Hereafter; never being afraid to throw back the pearl of this life back into the ocean of the spiritual realm where it really belongs. Only then can we enjoy everlasting pleasures… Wasalam, —

Once upon a time a couple celebrated their 25th marriage anniversary. They had become famous in the city for not having a single conflict in their period of 25 years. Local newspaper editors had gathered at the occasion to find out the secret.

Editor: "Sir. It’s unbelievable. How did you make this possible?" Husband recalling his old honeymoon days said: "We had our honeymoon after marriage. we selected the horse riding, we both started the ride on different horses. My horse was pretty okay but the horse on which my wife was riding seemed to be a crazy one.
On the way ahead, that horse jumped suddenly, making my wife topple over. Recovering her position from the ground, she patted the horse’s back and said "This is your first time". She again climbed the horse and continued with the ride. After a while, it happened again. This time she again kept calm and said "This is your second time" and continued. When the horse dropped her third time, she silently took out the revolver from the purse and shot the horse dead!!
I shouted at my wife: "What did you do you psycho. You killed the poor animal. Are you crazy?".

She gave a silent look and said: "This is your first time!!!".
Husband: "That’s it. I understood her, I accepted her as it is, and hence we are happy ever after. "

One of the Secrets to become Happy is:

"ACCEPT THE PERSON AS IT IS"

I am convinced the Paul Wolfowitz is a key man in the 911 frame-up. I certainly agree with the first writer below, and worry about how reasonable may be the worries of the second. But remember this, your Jewsih Doctor is not one of the Wall Street or City of London investment banker who put Bush and Wolfowitz. Some of the best minds working against Sharon and the 911 conspiracy frame-up are Jewish men and women in the U.S. and Israel (and, I have not doubt, in the U.K. too.) In fact Senator Lieberman has just called for a full-scale Senate investigation of 911 (along with McCain, Torricelli and other Senators, Republican and Democrat.) In this espionage false-flag business, you never know how your real friends or enemies are — you are some times disappointed — and much better — you are sometimes pleasantly surprised.

911 Was a Mossad False Flag Operation
By Sean McBride
(McBride is a discussant in newsgroups
investigating CIA drug-trade
involvement.)
3-23-2

I’ve been strongly resisting coming to the best guess that 911 was a classic Mossad false flag operation, conducted with the full complicity of a Zionist political network loyal to Israel at the highest levels of the U.S. government, but some recent events have made it almost impossible to ignore the obvious.

This is the theory that best fits the known facts. It’s not enough that the U.S. has failed to capture a single planner behind or perpetrator of the 911 WTC and anthrax attacks. It’s not enough that the U.S. is even failing to show any interest in capturing these "evildoers." But now we have George W. Bush urging Americans to pay no attention to Osama bin Laden and to forget he exists. What’s that again? Forget about OBL? And forget about the anthrax attacks?

OBL has conveniently been demoted from Lord Satan to a pesky "parasite," someone beneath our notice. You can’t afford to capture "evildoers" when knowledge of the real identity and purposes of said evildoers would turn the popular understanding of 911 upside down and create the biggest crisis in American politics since the Civil War.

Then we have the frantic efforts to shift the focus of attention regarding 911 to Iraq, even though there is not a shred of solid evidence that Iraq was involved in the attacks, and that the campaign to attack Iraq is being masterminded and promoted by Israel and Israeli loyalists in the American government like Paul Wolfowitz and Richard Perle.

The question then arises: was the purpose of the 911 attacks to justify precisely this kind of military campaign, against the Palestinians, Iraq, Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Egypt and on down the line?

Then there are reports about John Ashcroft, a militant Christian Zionist, demanding that the investigation into the 911 Israeli art student and movers spy rings be buried. Both spy rings appear to be closely-connected to the 911 WTC attacks in sinister ways about which Ashcroft would prefer to keep Americans in the dark.

Here’s the best guest so far of what happened on 9/11/2001…

Osama bin Laden is a high level agent operated by the Israeli Mossad in cooperation with the CIA. OBL and his inner circle recruited the hijackers for 911, with the naive recruitees having little idea of what they were really getting into or about whom was pulling their strings (this was the false flag component of the operation). The hijacked planes were taken over on 9/11 by remote control — the hijackers lacked the piloting skills to execute the maneuvers that were performed. Well-established procedures for handling situations of this kind were deliberately overridden by orders from on high within the Bush administration. The planes were allowed to hit their targets.

Now the government is engaged in a massive propaganda campaign to suppress any reasonable questions about 911. If the cover-up starts to fall apart, it is likely that more and worse terrorist incidents will be engineered, martial law will be declared, and any skeptics and dissidents will be imprisoned or murdered.

Now, if none of this true, why is the government doing its level best to make it appear to be true by its bungling and provocative behavior? Doesn’t this entire operation — both 911 and post-911 — have a keystone cops quality about it that is highly redolent of Iran-Contra?

Anyone who thinks Israel is incapable of this kind of behavior should thoroughly research the Lavon Affair. Start by doing a simple Google search on "lavon affair".

Anyone who thinks Christian Zionists aren’t capable of supporting Israel in this kind of behavior should take a close look at the attitudes expressed on Free Republic, a hotbed of Christian Zionist opinionating. Christian Zionists regularly express the conviction that Americans owe absolute loyalty and submission to the Israeli government, and that Israel and the United States should launch a campaign of genocide against Arabs and Muslims. Literally thousands of messages in this vein have been posted on Free Republic in the last few years, with the approval of Jim Robinson.

The most difficult thing to wrap one’s mind around in this scenario is the idea that some Americans would participate in such a radical betrayal of their country and fellow citizens. But then you have to take into account the bizarre effects of ethnic and religious cultism on the human mind, particularly cultism animated by apocalyptic fervor.

If this scenario comes close to describing what happened on 911, George W. Bush and many other high-level government officials are probably as much out of the loop as the average American. They are no doubt asking the same questions in private that have been asked on the Internet. I hope this scenario is proven wrong in the near future.

I hope we catch the real culprits behind 911 and the anthrax attacks, and discover they really are whom the media have claimed they are. But if the weeks drag on and on with more government evasions on these issues, and not a single significant arrest or conviction, suspicions are going to grow and harden.

At this point, the only thing I am certain about is that we have NOT been told the truth. That the Israeli’s were notified about the attack on the internet two hours before it occurred, that only ONE Israeli died in the attack, that the Israeli spy ring was discovered and then sent back to Israel without getting any answers, that the CELEBRATION of the Israeli group on the roof top in NYC took place….all these things point to Israel.

The media is run by about 50 American and Non-American Jews. Sharon said that America is run by Israel. I believe it. Look at the Marc Rich (Expatriot Jewish American) pardon. We are going to war against Iraq and others to satisfy them, not for our own nation’s security. It could lead to Nuclear war. That may be the idea. Over 2/3’s of our population could be destroyed. Preparations to protect and sustain the "important people" underground are in place here, in Russia, in China and they WERE in place in Afganistan until we destroyed their caves.

This is a true story that happened in Japan.

In order to renovate the house,

Someone in Japan breaks open the wall.

Japanese houses normally have a hollow space between
The wooden walls.

When tearing down the walls, he found that
There was a lizard stuck there

Because a nail from outside hammered into one of its feet.

He sees this, feels pity, and at the same time curious,
As when he checked the nail,

It was nailed 5 years ago when the house was first built !!!

What happened?

The lizard has survived in such position for 5 years!

In a dark wall partition for 5 years without moving,
It is impossible and mind-boggling.

Then he wondered how this lizard survived for 5 years!
Without moving a single step–since its foot was nailed!

So he stopped his work and observed the lizard,
What it has been doing, and what and how it has been eating.

Later, not knowing from where it came, appears another lizard,
With food in its mouth.

Ah! He was stunned and touched deeply.

For the lizard that was stuck by nail,
Another lizard has been feeding it for the past 5 years…

Imagine? It has been doing that untiringly for 5 long years,
Without giving up hope on its partner.

Imagine what a small creature can do
That a creature blessed with a brilliant mind can’t.

Please never abandon your loved ones

An old Arab lived close to New York City for more than 40 years. One day he decided that he would love to plant potatoes and herbs in his garden, but
he knew he was alone and too old and weak.

His son was in college in Paris, so the old man sent him an e-mail explaining the problem:

"Beloved son, I am very sad, because I can’t plant potatoes in my garden. I am sure, if only you were here, that you would help me and dig up the garden

for me. I love you, your father."

The following day, the old man received a response e-mail from his son:  "Beloved father, please don’t  touch the garden. That is where I have hidden ‘the

THING’. I love you, too, Ahmed."

At 4pm the US Army, the Marines, the FBI, the CIA, the NSA, the OHS, and the Rangers visited the house of the old man and took the whole garden apart, searching every inch. But they couldn’t find anything.

Disappointed, they left the house.

The next day, the old man received another e-mail from his son:

"Beloved father, I hope the garden is dug up by now and you can plant your potatoes. That is all I could do for you from here. Your loving son, Ahmed."

A blinding flash of white light

Lit up the sky over Gaza tonight

People running for cover

Not knowing whether they’re dead or alive.

They came with their tanks and their planes

With ravaging fiery flames

And nothing remains

Just a voice rising up in the smoky haze.

We will not go down

In the night, without a fight

You can burn up our mosques and our homes and our schools

But our spirit will never die

We will not go down

In Gaza tonight.

Women and children alike

Murdered and massacred night after night

While the so-called leaders of countries afar

Debated on who’s wrong or right.

But their powerless words were in vain

And the bombs fell down like acid rain

But through the tears and the blood and the pain

You can still hear that voice through the smoky haze.

We will not go down

In the night, without a fight

You can burn up our mosques and our homes and our schools

But our spirit will never die

We will not go down

In Gaza tonight.

16 يناير, 2009 Gaza- The Silenced Truth

أضف تعليقك

It has now been several days since the Israeli raids on the people of Gaza began. Hundreds have been killed, and thousands have been wounded. These amounts continue to build up, with no indication of halting or even lightening up any time soon. Medical supplies are scarce, food is difficult to find, families are torn apart, houses are demolished, and the borders are closed.

As for the rest of the world…Well, we could pretty much say it is dead; not dead with regards to bodies; but dead with regards to brains. People around the globe are not blind, nor are they deaf; yet they are deliberately ignorant of the current situation; ignorant of the humanitarian crisis in the Middle East, ignorant of those in need. They are aware of what is taking place, but continue to directly and indirectly refuse t help the innocent children, women, and elderly. When will the world be awakened from its deep slumber to respond to what is happening? When will they play their role in the process of quelling the occupation, the oppression, and the genocide happening today?

As the world continues to remiss the horrors and the atrocious pain that the Palestinian people are forced to suffer and live through, the amount of deaths in the area is exceeding, more houses are demolished, and the more violence formulated. The dearth of their care is not helpful at all. By the time the world awakens and realizes what has happened, if it does, Gaza will have been eradicated, obliterated, blown to oblivion, cleansed of its natural owners and roamers of the land, and walked upon by one of the heartless, relatively large terrorist group on the planet, Israel. The land that was established by Omar ibn Al-Khattab ® as a ‘Waqf’ for the Muslims, as Baitulmaal of the Muslims will be infected with the deadly virus of oppression, and the nauseating odors of bloodshed and violence.

We are awakened by the sounds of our alarm clocks every day, turn off the vexing noise, and return to our sheets for a few more minutes of rest and to briefly revise our schedules for the day. We then go about our schedules and at the end of the day return to the comfort of our homes to enjoy time with our families, entertain ourselves, or do whatever it is we want to do. We go to bed happy and with little or nothing on our minds.

The people of Palestine however do not have these various options, not even a small of fraction of this aspect of our life styles. They are awakened only by the loud sounds of F-16 fighter planes, explosions, implosions, missiles, and gun shots. They do not have the liberty to wake up and return to their beds to for a few extra minutes and contemplate about and revise their schedules, like we do. Every day for them is the same, with a tentative schedule and hopes that they can make it through the day alive.

We ask of you and encourage you to donate as much as you can to help alleviate the atrocious pain and suffering which is enveloping the civilians of Palestine, not only in money, but in dua’a as well. We need your help to spread the word that we are accepting donations. Please forward this message to your friends, families, your Masjid, and your Communities at large. They are counting on the ones who will come to their rescue.

Funny How $10 Looks so big when we take it to the masjid and so small when we take it to the mall.

Funny how big 1 hour serving god looks and how small 60 minutes are when spent fishing, playing golf, or playing soccer.

Funny how laborious it is to read a juzz’ in the quran and how easy it is to read 2-300 pages of the best selling novel.

Funny how we believe what the newspapers say but question what the quran says.

Funny how we can’t think of anything when we pray, and don’t have difficulty thinking of things to talk  about to our friends.

Funny how we need 2-3 weeks to fit an Islamic event into our schedules but can adjust it for social events at the last moment.

FUNNY ISN’T IT?
